
On the photo you can clearly see te (right) parietal bone. Combined with the left parietal bone, this is the top of the skull.
The thickness of the parietal bone varies in an adult person from 7 mm on the back (where the parietal bone meets the the occipital bone) to 4 mm on the temple where it meets the the sphenoid bone.
