The upper talus joint

The top surface of the talus forms a joint with the shin bone and the calf bone. This joint makes it possible to move the foot down over an angle of 30° and upwards over 20°. In the photo, the foot is moved downwards.

The lower talus joint

The lower surface of the talus borders on the heel bone. This joint enables you to turn the feet inward (moving the big toe upwards and standing on the outer sides of your feet) over 30° and outward (standing on the inside of your feet) over 20°.
